Bishop's Office
As bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Fairbanks, Donald J. Kettler, JCL is called on to exercise his pastoral ministries: to teach, to sanctify, and to govern.
He oversees the preaching of the Gospel and Catholic education in all its forms. He is also called to supervise the administration of the sacraments. In his role as the Ordinary for the diocese he acts as judge for Canon Law. He assigns clergy to their posts in various institutions and oversees finances.
The bishop, as the spiritual leader of the diocese, cares pastorally for all Catholics living within his ecclesiastical and ritual jurisdiction.
